Cherubs is Kinderballet’s program for children between the ages of 18 months to 2½ years. It gives a child’s caregiver a beautiful and unique opportunity to nurture their cherub through music and movement.
Cherubs gives very young children a positive introduction to a structured activity while addressing the needs and expectations of the age group. Cherubs is fully supported by a music program created by our composer, Jenny Pickering, and includes songs and movement, props and storytelling. It is a sensory experience in a safe, nurturing and joyful environment!
Sheryn Zarins, a former RAD Graded examiner and teacher, built Kinderballet based on a lifetime of experience of learning, teaching and examining ballet in Australia and internationally.
To develop the Cherubs program, Sheryn teamed up with Early Childhood Specialist Katie Francescutti (see below).
Katie and Sheryn have paired the principles of Early Childhood Development with the energy, joy and fun of dance to provide a holistic program that develops children’s musical and physical awareness and their gross motor skills.
Perhaps most importantly of all, Cherubs gives parents and carers an opportunity to have a shared experience, fundamentally important to the greatest outcomes for young children in terms of their development
Katie comes from a background of 18 years in the Early Childhood Sector in varying roles including the establishment and management of long day care centres. And later consultancy in child development and educational leadership.
Katie has a strong passion for the facilitation and delivery of high quality educational programs for young children. She believes that programs that understand the fundamental role that parents and carers play in the early years as shared experiences, prove to offer the greatest outcomes for young children.
Katie has three daughters aged 18 months, 6 years and 7 years from a home full of little dancers and believes Cherubs takes the principles of Early Childhood Development together with the energy and fun of dance to provide a holistic dance experience for parents and children alike.
